I Have not read a book in a long time and I feel ashamed. I am not sure why I haven’t read or shared my reading, however I have pre-ordered Patrick Rothfuss’ new Novela “A Slow Regard of Silent Things” through a fundraiser Rothfuss put on with Worldbuilders. I will be getting a signed version and the proceeds go to a great cause.

The Pirate King

The Pirate King by R.A Salvatore is another book from the endless list of legendary Drizzt Du’Urden novels. I have been trying to catch up with all of these books but as soon I finish a book of his he comes out with another one. The Pirate King is the second in the Transitions series.

It starts off a few months or so after the end of The Orc King. Drizzt and Regis plan a trip to go visit Wulfgar back in Icewind Dale. On the way the run into the Harpells family who are turning fugitives of the town near their mansion into animals. This leads to a conflict and discussion between Drizzt and Regis on how much one should be involved with cities policies even if they do not think it is right. (more…)

The Name Of The Wind

A newer book, came out in 2007 is the first book written by Patrick Rothfuss. A very large book, that keeps you wanting to read more. The story is a about a man named Kvothe, not sure how to pronounce it but in the book its said similar to quothe. I say (que-oohh-tee) others say it with the ‘th’ sound, I think my way sounds cooler because that is exactly what this character is! (more…)

The Orc King

The Orc King by R.A Salvatore is a very interesting book. This is very far into the Drizzt book series; this is like book 16 out of like 20 that are out.  However anyone could read this and follow the general story. Some of the parts may be kind of difficult to understand, but it is just sub-plot.  (more…)
